Great News (Aye, dios mio!)

I have been putting off visiting the doctor because before I could return, I had to go in for a blood test first thing in the morning. This is before I had eaten or drank anything for the past 16 hours or so. I had finally had the opportunity to do it last Thursday. I was being tested specifically for elevated liver enzymes (meaning my liver is mad at me for drinking too much) and elevated cholesterol. The last blood test I had taken, back in January, indicated my liver was somewhat pissed at me. I had been drinking my homebrew, plus Grand Marnier, and various assorted Liquors on a regular basis. I was celebrating our "Empty Nest" I guess. Well, I quit the hard stuff and more importantly, I quit drinking anything Monday- Wednesday, and sometimes Sunday. An average of exactly half the week not having a beer. It hasn't been easy, but I 've managed to maintain it for 3 months or so and, as a result, my liver enzymes are back to normal, meaning, what I have done has been successful. Therefore, I shall continue to abstain from any adult beverages from Monday to Wednesday, with every other Sunday in there for good luck. Also, as a benefit, I have lost almost 20lbs. Because of this, my back has never felt better, thank you very much.
I can't tell you how happy I am that I can still enjoy beer on a regular basis. I was worried that what I was doing, ie:just cutting back, was not going to be enough. It seems it was just enough. An awesome thing for me, seeing as my entire social life revolves around beer.
As for my cholesterol levels, I already eat healthy most of the time. Doc says to exercise to bring it down to an acceptable level.
Well, I just wanted to say YeeeeeHaaaaa. I'm awful HAPPY!
Love you all!

My Enormous New Beer Fridge

A couple of weeks ago I was able to acquire a huge industrial freezer for a very reasonable price (free). It was used in a hospital to store medical related stuff, I'm guessing. You know, blood, body parts, stool and semen samples etc. A friend that works at the hospital told me about it and even picked it up and delivered it to me, again for a reasonable price (free). I stuck it in the garage, hosed down the blood and other interesting stains, hooked it up to an external temperature regulator and now own the biggest beer cooler ever!
It stands almost 7ft tall and is over 5 feet wide.

The bottled beer is fresh from the local brewery that I get for a reasonable price (yes free).
The kegs are my home brewed beer, ready to serve.
There's forty gallons here with another forty gallons in process.
Next entry I'll write about Friday nights at the Brewery so hurry back.
